LaShervia Collins, PA-C
Physician Assistant
LaShervia Collins is a proud Arkansas native. LaShervia earned her bachelor of science degree in Biology at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2006. After college, she began working in the clinical laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Technician in Hematology/Oncology. It was during her time working in that field when she learned the meaning and true value of “quality patient-centered care,” in which she would incorporate this practice into her everyday work from then on.
With an understanding of how significant diagnostic testing is to healthcare, she continued her studies in the clinical lab – later earning a second bachelor of science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science in 2012 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. LaShervia spent several years dedicating her knowledge and skills to the clinical lab as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Her compassion for people, her passion for medicine, and her strong desire to further make a difference in the health and daily lives of people are what fueled her to continue her studies in medicine, later earning a master of science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2017.
LaShervia has been working as a certified physician assistant in Texas for the past 5 years. She brings her expertise in Urology and Urgent Care to Family Medicine here at Texas Medical Institute: “The best part about being a PA is having the opportunity to build relationships with people while educating and encouraging them on ways to living a healthier life.” LaShervia is dedicated to her family. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and ministry work at her church.
